Blockboard plywood is a specially designed compressed wood. The softwood strips are encased between two layers of wood veneer in the centre of the plywood sheet, enhancing the board’s structural stability through its layered construction. Although, unlike compressed wood, it is lighter and doesn’t split or break apart when cut, thanks to the softwood in its centre
What is a blockboard
Blockboard plywood sheets are a type of uniquely designed compressed wood. They are constrained, so that the softwood strips are found between two layers of the wood facade in the centre of the Plywood Sheet. This adds to the layered steadiness of the board and makes sure that the board can hold nails and screws better than plywood sheets. However, it is lighter than compressed wood, and it doesn’t part or fragment while cutting, due to the softwood in its center.
