Flush Doors
What are Flush Doors?
When selecting a door, you will usually have a number of options to choose from when it comes to size, finish, and other specifications. Be sure that your supplier has a flexible approach and offers a wide range of standard options as well as bespoke variants. Additionally, a door should ideally have water and heat resistance features to avoid warping over time.
Advantages of Flush Doors
- Stiffer and stronger than standard doors.
- Have simple designs that are inexpensive to manufacture.
- Available in a variety of colours and styles.
- Never affected by warping or water damage.
- Can easily be installed indoors and outdoors.
- Impact-resistant, and possess high strength.
- Can be used in both interior and exterior areas.
Types of Flush Doors
-
Solid Core Flush DoorThey are made of hard and mineral-rich wood. Different combinations of particle board, laminated core, cross band, face wood veneer, blockboard, etc are used. The width of these doors must be more than 7.5 cms at the stiles and top and bottom rails. The frames for these doors are made of timber wood and hardwood lipping is done around the framing to impart more strength and durability. They are heavy and possess good strength. Due to the high stability, they are mainly used as exterior doors.
The price of solid-core flush doors can vary depending on the quality of materials used, but they are eco-friendly, waterproof, and have good sound insulators. They are dimensionally accurate and have a high screw-holding capacity. -
Hollow Core Flush Door When it comes to Hollow Core Flush Doors, the thickness of plywood should always be greater than 6mm. Plywood sheets and face veneers are glued to the core under pressure. These doors are available at a slightly higher price than their solid-core counterparts, but they are less heavy.
Due to their lightweight nature, Hollow-core flush doors are easy to handle, making them ideal for those who are looking for a door that can withstand scratches, crashes, and stains. The surface of the door is able to counteract these issues, making it an apt option for any design. These doors are also easily manufactured and cheap.
