Environment
When it comes to preserving the environment, Wigwam is completely committed to the cause. All the timber used in manufacturing our plywood is sustainable and is procured from agroforestry timber plantations across Hoshiarpur and nearby districts. Agroforestry is a system that uses land that integrates trees and shrubs on farmlands and rural landscapes, to enhance the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of an ecosystem. It is a dynamic natural-resource management method that helps build social institutions.
We use a non-invasive approach in acquiring raw materials, making sure that we do not disturb the ecosystem. Our products are 100% eco-friendly and are E0, E1 Emission graded standards.
Health and Safety
Health and Safety is one of the primary priorities at Wigwam. We have a system in place that helps protect each member of our community. We follow all the safety-hazard protocols passed by the Government of India.Â
Wigwam conducts regular meetings with vital personnel to educate and ensure safety. We also make sure that our products meet the following criteria so that our consumers have a sense of assurance while purchasing our plywood:
E0 Emission Products – Zero Formaldehyde Emission. Wigwam Plywood is certified with E0 emission and is eco-friendly.
Our Initiatives
Respecting Our Resources
Wigwam values our planet and its resources. We use the veneer to its full potential, ensuring better utilisation of these resources and avoiding wastage. This process is divided into two specific stages:
- Maximising the veneer, using it to its complete capacity.
- Grading or re-grading the veneer for better application. It is recycled.
Usage of Wood Waste
Wigwam is one of the leading names in the Plywood Industry and we take pride in our policy of preservation. We counter wastage by using a systematic approach that includes installing a heating plant that converts wood waste to energy. It is clean and provides energy to other resources.
In the past few decades the world has witnessed a massive decrease in forest cover, leading to a catastrophic amount of casualties for organisms dependent on forests. This in turn has contributed to harming the ecological balance. Several countries including India have started coming up with innovative ways to recycle wood waste in an attempt to curb deforestation, and Wigwam is a constant participant in that effort.
Use of Solar Energy
Renewable resources have increasingly been in demand when it comes to energy consumption. It is a greener alternative to non-renewable resources. Wigwam uses solar power to help save electricity, avoid pollution, and reduce the consumption of fuel-powered energy.
Solar energy is cheaper in the long run and much more efficient. It is eco-friendly and drastically decreases pollution levels. By tapping into this domain, Wigwam has made sure that it continues to be sustainable in terms of production.
Environmental Licence
Regardless of who we are or where we are from, the one constant that all of us human beings share is the environment. With a firm belief and desire to conserve that constant, Wigwam takes all the necessary steps.
We strictly follow the norms for environmental licences passed by the Government of India. We have built an integrated environmental management system that ensures onsite activities are managed in a concise manner.
